CROWN CDi, DSi & XTi SERIES AMPLIFIERS RECALL

Crown are recalling CDi, DSi & XTi series amplifiers purchased between 1/9/09 AND 30/4/10 due to a potential component failure that will cause the amp to fail.

Affected amps are:

* XTi1000
* XTi2000
* XTi4000
* CDi1000
* CDi2000
* CDi4000
* DSi1000
* DSi2000
* DSi4000

OK, the link goes to the AMERICAN Crown website,(Harmon). Check your serial number on there as requested, BUT, if your amp is one of the ones with the problem you will need to contact these people:

They are the UK DISTRIBUTOR for Crown. I have had dealings with them before with a faulty XTI series amplifier and it took them nearly 6 months to authorise a replacement !!

For a company with the reputation of Crown, you dont expect that level of component failure ! There reputation is quickly heading down the toilet I think

Crown always had a good reputation but in the days when I was a passive man I always used Lab Gruppen, certainly no t cheap but 100% reliable and the after service was second to none.

I have a Crown K2 Amp (bought when their ditributer was Fuzion)
I also have an XTI Amp bought from trade supplier HBL, at the time of the initial purchase the UK distributor was Harmon (same as the USA) but when it went wrong and needed replaceing under their 3 year warranty the distributor had changed to their current one - Sound Technology - who were a complete shower of s***e !!

I even takled a permotan american on the Crown stand at PLASA last year about how bad their UK distributor was, told him I wasn;t going to buy any more Crown until they sorted them out! He said he would 'get his people to talk to their people', I told hime I was going to buy QSC in the future !!
