Weekend 30th – 1st

Postby Mark Davies » Wed Jul 28, 2010 7:04 am

We sort of have 5 this weekend, all weddings as usual with 1 Friday, 3 Saturday and 1 on Monday which is an odd day for us.

We have a few original first dance tracks as well which makes a change, Fleetwood Mac – Songbird and Foo Fighters – Miracle, the rest are the usual stuff. I am going to need to cover Monday’s wedding as they want quite a lot of traditional jazz sets and that is one of my specialist areas.

Wedding Friday

3 Weddings on Saturday
Is this the begining of the end, or the end of the begining?

2 wedddings this weekend, both on Saturday.

Talking of unusual first dances, last week we were presented with a CD which was James - Just like Fred Astaire for the first dance.

Well what a f**k up.

I said earlier that we had an odd wedding on the Monday, I even questioned this when the enquiry came in and the date 02/08/2010 (Monday) was confirmed. We did all the paperwork and all was good until this morning.

The groom phones up (had previously dealt with the bride) checking all was OK for Sunday. If he had not phoned we would have not been there.

I can assure you my paperwork was spot on.

Today was good fun, no gig but went to a family party, after lunch out came the quad bikes and then helicopter rides, then hot off the cruise ship came Clem from the Foundations, family friend of theirs (impressed he recognised me !), great guy and still earning from gigging two songs and covers of other peoples stuff. He desperately tried to get my daughters to sing accapella with him after lunch (first time they've met him), and although they know the songs really well, were not having any of it ! :-)
